First I got a corrupted Nintendo boot screen but that is not really surprising considering the cart slot must have been dirty. As it turn out, not much was wrong with it.
GAMEBOY DMG PORTABLE
I was expecting to have corroded contacts and battery acid everywhere like most broken portable console I usualy from eBay but it was not the case this time.Īfter my usual innitial cleaning and desinfection, I digged some of my old Game Boy carts from when I was a kid, popped 4 AA battery in it and fired up good ol' Tetris to try and assess what kind of issues it had. When it arrived, I was suprised to find that it was in a pretty decent condition.
GAMEBOY DMG MOD
I already have my old Game Boy from when I was young but I figured that I would be able to mod the extra one (I don't really like modding my old console from when I was a kid). I ended up getting it for about 15$ shipping included. It was shipping from Canada (lower shipping for me) and was selling for so cheap that I just had to bid on it eventough I really didn't need it. The description was that the seller apparently found it in a box while cleaning his house and didn't test it. By the way, it is actually possible to connect Game Boy to a TV, using the adapter “Super Game Boy” and the console Super Nintendo.I saw this defective original Game Boy listed on eBay that nobody seemed to be interested in.

GAMEBOY DMG TV
Gameboy is known as portable console, which is not entirely accurate, since it doesn’t require connection to a TV to work, but this emphasized a respectful attitude towards GB, directly putting it on a par with the most popular in those years, 8-bit console from Dendy. Firstly released in 1989, Game Boy rapidly progressed to success, eclipsing the popularity of competitors and even colorful Sega Game Gear. In the world of portable consoles Gameboy by Nintendo is a super survivor. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, there is an oversized Game Boy as the scoreboard in the Pianta Parlor. In Luigi's Mansion, there is a Boo called Game Boo, which is probably a pun on Game Boy or its series. In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Mario is able to buy a Game Boy from a Toad in the Mushroom Kingdom. My pipe dream is to buy a replacement LCD for less than what the Bennvenn screen costs, and get a DMG with a 'screen cancer' screen and do a restoration. We really do need more options when it comes to DMG screens, since the originals are rotting away. This cartridge appears to be a modified version of the standard Game Boy Test Cartridge, starting at the Controller Test section. The Game Boy Controller Kensa Cartridge (Game Boy Controller Test Cartridge) allowed Nintendo Service Representatives to test the buttons on the Game Boy unit (or an SNES controller, if plugged into a Super Game Boy). Volume trimpot defective, removed, Soundcheck with 47ohms resistors. This has been a Gameboy World Review of Super Mario Land!
